FAQ
Questions, answered.
How much do Glydiq folding electric wheelchairs weigh?
The lineup ranges from about 16.5 kg for the carbon-fiber CF-01 up to around 32 kg for the all-terrain HBS-0080. The CF-01 is the lightest, built to fold down for easy lifting and travel.
Can the battery be removed and carried separately?
Yes — every model uses a quick-release lithium battery you can take out to charge indoors or carry on its own, which also keeps the chair lighter when folding.
How far can they travel on one charge?
It depends on the model — roughly 15 km on the lightweight HBS-0023 and up to about 24 km on the HBS-0080 with its two batteries. Figures are preliminary and vary with rider weight, terrain, and speed.
How compact do they fold, and will they fit in a car?
All models fold to fit in most car trunks. The travel-focused HBS-0023, for example, folds to about 27 cm wide, and some models have quick-release rear wheels to pack even smaller.
What is the maximum supported user weight?
It ranges by model — from about 100 kg (220 lb) on the HBS-0023 up to 180 kg (396 lb) on the heavy-duty HBS-0080.
Can they handle slopes and uneven ground?
Each model is designed for inclines up to about 12°, with anti-tip wheels and, on select models, shock-absorbing suspension for steadier outdoor use. Always follow the user manual's safety guidance.
Can I take one on an airplane?
They fold compactly and use removable lithium batteries, which travelers often prefer. Airline rules for powered wheelchairs and lithium batteries vary by carrier and battery size, so check your airline's policy before you fly.
